The Collective Noun For A Group of Golden Retrievers is a Happy!

When we first started selling our Golden Dog Farm merchandise, there were people who gravitated to things that often just had our Happiness is Golden tagline on it, versus the full farm logo. Which in hindsight makes sense, as it allows the item to represent their relationship with their goldens - not just be about the Golden Dog Farm experience. So we decided to explore the tagline as its own celebration of all things golden retrievers and to give it a logo of its own.
This logo uses a variation of the font Burford that is the font used in the Golden Dog Farm logo, so that creates some continuity between the two which we like. Also, instead of having the brand established in 2022, we decided to use 1868, when the first Golden Retriever litter was born. We figured the concept of "Happiness is Golden" goes back to when those first golden pups (Cowslip, Crocus and Primrose) started bringing people happiness, not just in 2022 when we decided to make a logo.
The first litter of Golden Retrievers was bred by a Scottish member of the House of Commons named Dudley Coutts Marjoribanks, who was later elevated to be the first Baron of Tweedmouth. On a side note, we are definitely naming our next golden puppy Dudley.
It's worth noting that there was a Golden Retriever gathering in the summer of 2018 to celebrate the 150th anniversary of the litter born in 1868 - and it took place at Dudley's Scottish Highlands estate Guisachan in Tomich, Scotland. 361 Goldens attended, talk about a "happy!"
That's it for the brand history lesson! Thanks for being a part of the Happines is Golden family, and all that we are doing on Golden Dog Farm too. And very sincere thank you to all of the people that helped us design, develop and finalize this logo!
